To: H-1B/L-1/offshoring e-newsletter Mon Jun 10 17:28:27 PDT 2013 Barron's kindly ran my op-ed over the weekend. I wasn't going to mention it here, as it makes arguments that I've made repeatedly in this e-newsletter. However, a number of people have asked to see it, as Barron's does not display the full text online. Thus I have posted the full text at http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/Barrons.txt A thoughtful commentary on my article is at http://spectator.org/archives/2013/06/10/immigration-and-the-best-and-b One small point in response to that commentary: The author says my restriction to natives "grates" on him. I fully agree; it grates on me too, and I try to avoid it whenever possible. As many of you probably know, I usually take the word "American" to mean U.S. citizens and permanent residents, where the citizens category includes naturalized citizens. However, in my analysis in this case, I did indeed restrict to natives, for reasons which I describe in detail in my EPI paper, at http://www.epi.org/publication/bp356-foreign-students-best-brightest-immigration-policy/ Norm Archived at http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/Archive/Barrons.txt
