New Homework Procedures

As I mentioned, thre will be a slight modification of the homework submission procedures in the syllabus.

• Due dates/times: As in the syllabus.
• Packaging: Put all the following into a .tar file, with the following contents:
  • Your .py or .R source files, as the case may be.
  • A file Who.txt:

  • This is something new. It will (a) give an overview of each group member's contribution to this submission and (b) list people from whom the group got external advice. For the latter, you need not mention me or the TA, but you are required to list classmates and other students whom you consulted, as well as anyone else. If you found information from the Web that did not involve interacting with a person, then you need not list it; otherwise you must do so.

• Submitting your work. We will no longer use timestamps, etc. Instead, you will e-mail your .tar file to the TA, with the file being an attachment. Your file name MUST be of the form ID1.ID2...IDk.m.tar, where ID1, ID2 etc. are the student IDs of your group members, and m is the number of the homework assignment.

  Example: If your group consists of two people, whose IDs are xxxxxxxxx and yyyyyyyyy, then your file for Homework 3 must be named xxxxxxxxx.yyyyyyyyy.3.tar

I plan to gradually automate some of the homework grading process (less grading in the case of ECS 132). Please follow these instructions exactly, as any deviation might result in a delay in getting credit.
